Sebanyak 5 orang ahli dan 3 orang konsultan dari Agency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study (AQAS) telah selesai melakukan visitasi yang dilakukan secara marathon sejak 17 Juni hingga tanggal 29 Juni 2022 secara daring terhadap 5 program studi di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Mereka adalah Prof. Dr. Janne Fengler, Director Institute of Childhood Pedagogy, Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences (Germany); Peter Hoffmann, Principal of German School Jakarta (representative of the labour market); Concepcion V. Pijano, International Consultant for Accreditation, Executive Director, Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), Quezon City; Laura Ritter, Master Student of Cognitive Science and Psychology at University of Cologne (student representative); dan Prof. Dr. Ulrich Wehner, Director Institute of Early Childhood Education, Karlsruhe University of Education (Germany). Sementara itu, para konsultanya adalah Doris Herrmann (AQAS), Sarah Jenischewski (AQAS), dan Vi Le (AQAS).
Para asesor melakukan visitasi terhadap program studi Pendidikan Guru Anak Usia Dini (Sarjana), Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (Sarjana), Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (Magister), dan Pendidikan Dasar (Magister) serta Pendidikan Dasar (Doktor).
Menurut Wakil Rektor Bidang Pendidikan dan Kemahasiswaan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Prof. Dr. H. Didi Sukyadi, M.A., yang ditemui usai mengikuti visitasi yang dilaksanakan secara daring melalui platform Zoom Cloud Meetings, di Ruang Rapat Gedung Partere Kampus UPI Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi Nomor 229 Bandung,Rabu (29/6/2022), mengatakan bahwa seluruh aktifitas diskusi tanya jawab tentang strategi universitas, profil program studi, kekuatan kurikulum, kualitas mahasiswa dan lulusannya, serta bagaimana kualitas staf pengajarnya yang tercantum dalam borang untuk prodi-prodi yang di akreditasi telah selesai dilaksanakan visitasi.
Ditegaskannya,”Saat ini sedang menunggu umpan balik dari para asesor dari Agency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study (AQAS) ke Universitas. Hasilnya bisa saja prodi-prodi kita terakreditasi secara conditional accreditation, unconditional accreditation atau bahkan tidak terakreditasi. Keputusan tersebut direncanakan diumumkan pada 28 Agustus 2022, jadi kita harus menunggu.”
Menurut pantauan kami, ungkapnya, ada beberapa hal yang harus ditingkatkan dan ditindaklanjuti atas aspek-aspek yang tercantum dalam borang. Sementara itu, mereka para ahli akan melakukan rapat untuk memberikan umpan balik dan hasilnya diserahkan kepada kita.
“Umpan balik bukan merupakan sebuah keputusan akreditasi tetapi sebagai refleksi umum dari para ahli (asesor) pada program studi yang divisitasi berdasarkan kunjungan lapangan,” tegasnya.
Selama kita menunggu, katanya, kita harus mempersiapkan berbagai upaya. Ini dilakukan jika hasilnya terakreditasi secara conditional accreditation. Memang prodinya terakreditasi secara internasional, namun jika seperti itu nantinya akan menjadi masalah ketika akreditasi tersebut dikonversi ke akreditasi Unggul melalui Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT) atau Lembaga Akreditasi Masyarakat (LAM) karena conditional accreditation tidak bisa dikonversi ke Unggul.
Hal serupa ditegaskan pula oleh Wakil Direktur Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan Sekolah Pascasarjana UPI Dr. Eng. Agus Setiawan, M.Si., dikatakannya,”Secara umum semua berjalan sesuai rencana, sesi demi sesi bisa dilewati, dan di setiap sesinya kita belajar serta melakukan perbaikan-perbaikan. Sebagai contoh, prodi-prodi di Sekolah Pascasarjana (SPs) seperti Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (Magister), Pendidikan Dasar (Magister) dan Pendidikan Dasar (Doktor) dalam diskusi terakhir dapat menjawab semua pertanyaan.”
Saat ini kita tinggal menunggu hasil, ujarnya. Apa yang mereka minta sudah kita respon, semua keputusan ada di tangan asesor. Berdasarkan pengalaman, sumber daya, keketatan dan kualitas mahasiswa, kita layak untuk terakreditasi internasional AQAS dengan status “UNCONDITIONAL” artinya tidak perlu adanya dokumen tambahan untuk melengkapi.
