Semakin berkembangnya teknologi digital, maka akan semakin bervariasi pula teknik para penipu menyebar umpan di media sosial. Penipuan beroperasi dalam bahasa dan tampilan maya yang dikemas apik, menarik, menjanjikan dan membahagiakan namun penuh dengan tipu muslihat. Artikel sederhana ini mencoba mengelobarasi sekaligus membongkar pelbagai teknik penipuan di Era Digital 4.0.
Pertama, penipu menggunakan rekayasa simulacrum. Simulacrum adalah tampilan yang menyatakan diri sebagai realitas. Lihat bagaimana penipu investasi bodong beroperasi melalui video-videonya yang menampakkan bahwa ia merupakan orang kaya raya, memiliki aset kekayaan di mana-mana, memiliki ragam investasi lain dan sebagainya. Coba kita bertanya apakah ini memang realita? Atau hal ini hanya simulakrum yakni penampakan seperti realitas namun ia bukanlah realitas itu sendiri. Contoh, seseorang yang berperan sebagai dokter di dalam pagelaran drama, apakah bisa kita katakan bahwa ia adalah dokter? Sehingga kita berbondong-bondong meminta resep obat dari si aktor. Nah, para penipu senantiasa melabeli dirinya ini itu agar para calon korban menduga bahwa tidak mungkin seorang konglongmerat akan menipu kita.
Kedua, penipu menggunakan argumentasi ekstrapolasi di mana ia menampakkan sesuatu yang menyenangkan saja. Coba kita lihat aneka pengobatan yang mengklaim dirinya sebagai pengobatan alternatif, mengapa banyak orang mendatangi pengobatan seperti ini? Kemudian mereka malah mengeluarkan uang melebihi pengobatan medis. Jawabannya adalah iklan pengobatan alternatif hanya menyodorkan testimonial yang berhasil sementara yang gagal boleh jadi lebih banyak lagi. Klaim kebenaran informasi yang berbasis data minim adalah salah satu bentuk argumen ekstrapolasi.
Ketiga, penipu suka menggunakan teknik skematisasi bahasa. Skematisasi adalah teknik menyederhanaan bahasa namun bersifat muluk-muluk. Coba kita lihat jenis penipu skematis ini, ia mampu berbahasa yang sangat cair dan menjanjikan. Misalnya, si penipu berkata “silakan beli obat ini, sekali minum semua penyakit sembuh”. Saran saya kepada para pembaca adalah ketika mendengar sesuatu yang terlalu indah untuk menjadi kenyataan. Kemungkinan besar si penutur adalah pendusta alias tukang tipu.
Keempat, penipu suka mengulang-ngulang suatu gagasan indah sehingga lama kelamaan orang menjadi percaya. Teknik ini disebut dengan istilah Ad Nausum atau repitisi. Bahkan seseorang yang awalnya cukup skeptis melihat suatu iklan, malah bisa jatuh ke dalam tipu daya, mengapa? Karena si penipu mengiklankan penipuannya berulang-ulang kali sehingga kekritisan audiens mulai tergerus. Dalam teori behavioris, repetisi bersifat menginternalisasi sehingga informasi tersebut akan terngiang-ngiang di benak si pendengar, Walhasil si pendengar kritispun jatuh ke dalam lubang jebakan.
Kelima dan yang terakhir adalah Ilusi Muller-Lyer. Sederhananya ilusi jenis ini beroperasi melalui sikap kejumudan atau kefanatikan yang membutakan dan menulikan. Contoh, sikap seseorang sudah anti dengan pengobatan non-medis (alternatif) akan senantiasa menolak apapun informasi selain dari medis sehingga pengobatan medis dijadikan sebuah kebenaran tunggal yang mendaku. Berhati-hatilah dengan Ilusi Muller Lyer ini karena bukan hanya penipu era 4.0 yang akan menggunakannya namun terkadang para tokoh agama, politisi, masyarakat dan lain sebagainya.
Tersebut di atas hanya sebagian kecil dari sejumlah teknik penipuan di Era Digital 4.0. Penulis yakin masih banyak lagi pendekatan, teknik dan strategi yang telah, sedang dan akan digunakan para penipu dalam menyebar umpan dan mendapat ikan (baca: korban/mangsa). Berpikir kritis dalam menyikapi aneka informasi di era disrupsi digital amat sangat penting, berhentilah mengatakan informasi ini benar atau salah. Sekarang mulailah, bertanya ini informasi apa? siapa yang mengatakannya dan apa kepentingannya dalam menyampaikan ini? Dengan begitu, InsyaaAllah kita akan jauh dari potensi untuk ditipu.
