Bahasa, bukan sekedar alat untuk menyampaikan pesan dalam berkomunikasi. Lebih dari itu, Bahasa dapat menunjukkan etika seseorang dalam kemampuannya memilih kata yang santun sesuai nilai agama, kultur, dan sosial.
Pernyataan tersebut diungkapkan Wakil Ketua komisi X DPR RI Dr. Ir. Hetifah Sjaifudian, MPP., dalam kesempatannya membahas Bicara Buku yang berjudul Kesantunan Berbahasa: Kajian Nilai, Moral, Etika, Akhlak, Karakter dan Manajemen Pentingnya Bertutur Kata Santun (Sebuah pedoman untuk menerapkan nilai dalam kehidupan bangsa) karya Guru Besar di bidang Pengajaran Bahasa Arab Berbasis Nilai Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Prof. Dr. H. Sofyan Sauri, M.Pd., di Ruang Perpustakaan Lantai 2 Gedung Nusantara ll Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto No.10270, Kota Jakarta Pusat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta, Selasa (24/5/2022).
Lebih lanjut diungkapkan,”Netizen Indonesia dinilai paling tidak sopan se-Asia Pasifik. Indonesia juga mengalami darurat hoax dan ujaran kebencian. Untuk diketahui, Bahasa bukan sekadar sekumpulan kata atau seperangkat kaidah tata berbahasa, melainkan juga sebagai khazanah kekayaan budaya, pemikiran, dan pengetahuan. Negara serius dalam melindungi Bahasa Indonesia dan menciptakan masyarakat yang berkarakter luhur.”
Berbagai dampak negatif dari komunikasi yang jauh dari nilai kesantunan menjadi dasar Prof. Sofyan untuk mengingatkan kita agar kembali berbahasa yang santun dan penuh etika, sesuai dengan kaidah di Al-Qur’an. Terdapat 6 kategori komunikasi yang baik, yaitu Qaulan Sadida, Qaulan Ma’rufa, Qaulan Baligha, Qaulan Masyura, Qaulan Karima dan Qaulan Layyina.
“Prof Sofyan mengatakan tentang pentingnya penggunaan Bahasa yang harus sesuai dengan agama dan moral. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, Presiden Joko Widodo telah menandatangani Peraturan Presiden Republik Indonesia No. 63 Tahun 2019 Tentang Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia. Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia harus memenuhi kriteria Bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar, yang digunakan sesuai dengan konteks berbahasa dan selaras dengan nilai sosial masyarakat. Ini menjadi cermin dari martabat bangsa,” tegasnya.
Oleh karena itu, berbahasalah yang santun, baik dan benar, ujarnya. Didiklah anak-anak kita sejak usia dini tentang bagaimana berbahasa. Bahasa gaul menjadi suatu dinamika di masyarakat khusunya anak muda tidak menjadi masalah selama itu dipergunakan untuk bergaul tetapi diharapkan harus memahami prinsip-prinsip berkomunikasi yang baik dan benar.
Dikatakannya,”Bahasa gaul boleh dipergunakan sebagai sarana bersosialisasi di antara komunitas, selama masih di dalam batas kesopanan dan batas-batas etika.”
